Planning dinner for your family (especially picky kids) for an entire week can be hard! What should we eat for dinner? What do I need to buy at the store? Let me answer both of those questions with my free weekly meal plan including a printable grocery list (and bonus leftover re-do ideas)!

Family Meal Plan

This week we are talking about feeding your family dinner, especially the kids, especially the picky ones. I have two little picky dinner time monsters of my own, so I know that the battle can be REAL!

This week the menu includes only kid friendly and kid approved recipes. There are 4 recipes included for you to use and then I recommend that you have:

  • 1 kids choice night
  • 1 leftover night
  • 1 take out night

All together that makes a week of dinners! And if this one isn’t quite your style, there are a lot of other menus to choose from in my Meal Plan Page.

Chicken Noodle Soup for Kids

This recipe for Chicken Noodle Soup has no onions and no green stuff… the things your kids probably hate! However there is still enough flavor for the adults to enjoy it too. We keep the side dishes pretty simple with some warm bread, like ciabatta or french.

Pizza Roll Ups

Who doesn’t love pizza!? This is a homemade version with a twist. Use a store bought tube of pizza dough, and then everyone can customize their pizza roll up with the toppings they like. Serve this with a plate of raw veggies and a caesar or green salad.

Skillet Mac & Cheese

Mac and Cheese is such a classic for kids. This recipe is all made in one pan… no pre-cooking noodles and making the sauce separate, everything is made together! It is a creamy, cheesy, and flavorful Skillet Mac and Cheese! You can serve this apple slices and steamed broccoli (or your kids favorite veggie).

Instant Pot BBQ Chicken Sandwiches

If you love BBQ then you are going to LOVE these BBQ Chicken Sandwiches. The chicken is cooked to a perfect tender shred in the Instant Pot. If you don’t have an Instant Pot you can just buy and shred a rotisserie chicken then mix it up with your favorite BBQ sauce. Serve this with your kids favorite veggie and some tater tots.

Leftover Re-Do Ideas

  • BBQ Chicken makes amazing BBQ Chicken Pizza or BBQ Chicken Sliders.
  • Turn leftover mac and cheese into a Cheeseburger Mac.
  • Leftover Chicken can be made into BBQ Chicken Nachos.
  • Add some cream, potatoes, and veggies to the chicken noodle soup for a heartier vegetable soup recipe.
