This Chili Lime Aioli is a simple mayonnaise based sauce that is a perfect condiment for burgers, sandwiches, or tacos. You mix mayo, Asian chili sauce, lime and green onions… easy peasy. We especially love it on top of this Bulgogi Burger, add some pickled cucumbers and onion and it is one knock out dinner!

A small bowl of chili lime aioli

This aioli is very similar to this Sambal Aioli, but instead of adding honey for sweetness we add some lime juice for tang.

Ingredient Details

Sambal Oelek – You can find Sambal in the Asian foods aisle at the grocery store. It is basically an Asian Chili Sauce. It is somewhat similar to Sriracha, but I think it has a cleaner chili flavor and less garlic.

Mayonnaise- mayo is the base of any “lazy” aioli. Traditional aioli starts by making a mayo from egg yolk and oil. But we are taking the shortcut of using store bought mayo.

Green Onion- adds a slight onion flavor that pairs nicely with the Sambal chili flavor. Use the white and light green parts for the most onion flavor.

Lime – adds a nice citrus tang to the aioli.

Using Chili Lime Aioli

Since this aioli has Sambal in the ingredients it definitely pairs well with Asian style foods that can use a dipping sauce. Like this Asian Marinated Salmon or Asian Brussels Sprouts. As I wrote in the beginning, it also is amazing on top of this Bulgogi Style Burger!

Excellent aioli dip. Loved with our burgers as a sauce.
