Candy Corn Snack Mix

If you stopped by any house in the Midwest in the heart of autumn, chances are they have a bowl of this in the kitchen or living room. It’s called Candy Corn Mix and it’s a perfectly balanced snack mix of salty, crunchy peanuts and sweet, soft candy corns. Definitely plan on making this when candy corns are in the stores (generally September – November)!

Sweet and Salty Snack

My Dad always loves this snack when it is candy corn season. It tastes like a Salted Nut Roll candy bar.

It is a great candy mix to have around the house when you are entertaining or have house guests for the holidays.

How to Make Candy Corn Mix

Mix equal portions of roasted salted peanuts and candy corns. That’s it! Place this sweet and salty snack in a bowl or covered container at room temperature. It should last about 2 weeks, in a covered container, if you can resist eating it for 2 weeks!

Variations

The recipe below is the classic recipe for Candy Corn Mix. There are updated versions that have some more mix-ins. Here are some variations to try:

  • 2 cups candy corn, 2 cups roasted salted peanuts, 1.5 cups peanut butter baking chips, 3 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 2 cups candy corn, 2 cups roasted salted peanuts, 4 cups caramel popcorn, 3 cups mini pretzel twists, 1 cup Reese’s pieces, 1 cup mini Reese’s peanut butter cups
  • 2 cups candy corn, 2 cups candy pumpkins, 2 cups roasted salted peanuts, 1.5 cups peanut butter baking chips, 3 cups mini pretzel twists

      I have always loved this mix at Harvest time- so easy !
      PayDays do come to mind. However, I recently read
      an article about how candy corn is glazed. Dunno. Been
      eating it since I was a child. Still kickin’ and breathin’.
