Yes, you can make simple syrup in the microwave. It is a really easy way to put together simple syrup in about 1 minute. Once it cools you can use it to sweeten up cocktails, iced tea, coffee or anything that calls for simple syrup! The nice thing is you can make it ahead and store it in the fridge for up to a month.

Microwave Simple Syrup

Make simple syrup in the microwave to use as a sweetener for cocktails, drinks, teas and coffee.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions
 

  • Combine the water and sugar in a microwave safe bowl.
    1 cup white sugar, 1 cup water
  • Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between, until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Let cool and then use right away. Or transfer to a glass bottle or mason jar with a lid and keep in the fridge for up to a month.
