Start your potatoes in cool water... it helps them cook more evenly.
Then bring to a simmer and let the potatoes cook for 40 mins.
Cut the potatoes into 3 inch pieces.
Warm the milk with the butter before adding to your potatoes!
Add the warmed milk/butter, cream cheese, sour cream, salt and garlic. Blend with a hand mixer for really creamy potatoes.
