Homemade Lasagna Recipe

Three steps to making really great lasagna:

1. Make a semi-homemade Italian sausage sauce 2. Mix the herby ricotta filling 3. Layer & bake

Make the amazing sauce by sauteing sausage & onions,  add garlic, sauce, & seasonings.

Make the herby ricotta by stirring together the egg, herbs, and whole milk ricotta.

Time to layer  the Lasagna!

Spray your pan with non stick spray.

Pour 1.5 cups of sauce on the bottom

Layer on 3 no-boil lasagna sheets.

Spread 1/3 of the ricotta over the pasta.

Sprinkle on 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese.

Repeat the layering 2 more times: sauce, noodles, ricotta, cheese...

Finish with 3 more lasagna noodles, remaining sauce, mozzarella and parmesan.

Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, remove foil and bake another 25 minutes.

Some Lasagna Pro Tips!

Use at least a 2 in. deep 9x13 dish for all the layers! 

Set the baking dish on a rimmed baking sheet to catch spills in the oven.

Let the lasagna cool 15-20 mins before cutting.

Make the recipe is (2) smaller pans if you are feeding a smaller group.
